Year-end campaign will match reader donations up to $12,000 to support independent religion journalism in Washington and Idaho
PULLMAN, Wash. — October 23, 2026 — FāVS News is participating in NewsMatch 2026, a national fundraising campaign supporting nonprofit journalism. From Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, reader donations to FāVS will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $12,000.
“Local religion reporting helps people understand their neighbors, their communities and the issues shaping life across our region,” said Tracy Simmons, editor and executive director of FāVS News. “As we approach our 15th year, this campaign is an opportunity for readers to help sustain that work and make their support go further.”
Founded in 2012, FāVS News covers the people, congregations, traditions and issues shaping religious life in the Inland Northwest. Its reporting connects readers with stories that might otherwise go uncovered, from rural congregations and community outreach to the intersection of faith, public life and policy.
NewsMatch is a national initiative administered by the Institute for Nonprofit News (INN) and its partners to help nonprofit news organizations build reader support and strengthen their long-term sustainability. FāVS is also inviting community members to provide matching gifts that can help expand the impact of the year-end campaign and encourage more readers to contribute.
Donations will support FāVS News’ ongoing reporting and its mission to provide independent journalism about religion and faith communities in the region.
