Tickets are now available for the inspirational documentary about free healthcare pioneer Stan Brock - screening in over 700 theaters across the country on November 14.

MEDICINE MAN: THE STAN BROCK STORY will release in over 700 theaters across the United States on Tuesday, November 14 as a one-night-only Fathom special screening event.

The documentary has already inspired audiences from coast to coast at notable film festivals including DOC NYC, Heartland, and Cinequest, while picking up several awards, including Best Documentary Feature at SCAD Savannah.

MEDICINE MAN follows the unlikely journey of British-born Amazonian cowboy turned US TV star, Stan Brock, as he sacrifices everything for his life-changing mission to bring free healthcare to remote and underserved communities across America. Over eight years in the making, this debut feature film by Paul Michael Angell is at once a heart-warming tribute to the unifying power of volunteerism, and an exploration of a perennial outsider's search for meaning through profound self-sacrifice.

Brock, best known for his role as the star of “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” in the late 1960s, was also the founder of Remote Area Medical (RAM)®, a major nonprofit that operates free pop-up clinics delivering quality dental, vision, and medical care to thousands of patients in underserved communities across the United States.

RAM has operated more than 1,250 of these clinics to date, providing over 910,000 individuals with more than $189.5 million worth of free healthcare, delivered by an army of over 196,000 volunteers. The organization also helped to organize and staff COVID-19 testing centers throughout the country at the height of the pandemic.

As well as recounting Brock’s transformational journey from anaconda-wrestling TV star to free healthcare provider of last resort for countless Americans, the documentary offers a unique perspective on the US healthcare crisis, as seen from the front lines. British director Angell, who spent nearly a decade helming the production and has shot at several RAM clinics, stated:

“It’s a real privilege for us to partner with Fathom Events to screen “Medicine Man” across America. Our only hope is that this film will show people what is really at stake when talking about healthcare access. Healthcare is fundamentally a human issue, and it shouldn’t be treated as a political football. That was always central to Stan Brock’s beliefs, and I hope that this is people’s key takeaway after seeing the film. I also want these screenings to serve as both a celebration of the American spirit and a timely reminder of what people can achieve when they put aside their differences and come together to help one another.”

Current Remote Area Medical CEO, Jeff Eastman, added:

“As a child, I watched Stan Brock on “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” in absolute awe. Now, decades later, as I reflect upon my years working alongside Mr. Brock at Remote Area Medical, I still find that familiar sense of awe and amazement. “Medicine Man” captures the essence of an enigmatic man with one mission in mind: to prevent pain and alleviate suffering by providing free, quality healthcare to those in need. Stan dedicated the last 33 years of his life to Remote Area Medical, and now, we carry on his legacy as we bridge the gap between need and access for the millions of Americans who have fallen through the cracks.”
