Religion News Association receives 501(c)(3) status

ALEXANDRIA, Va.: Religion News Association (RNA) is pleased to announce that it has received 501(c)(3) nonprofit status from the Internal Revenue Service. Previously, RNA was registered as a 501(c)(6).

This new registration will make it easier for RNA to solicit and receive tax-deductible donations.

“This is a huge moment for RNA,” said Dawn Araujo-Hawkins, president of the RNA board of directors. “Several years ago, the board had a vision for how we could expand the ways we serve our members. It took a lot of effort to get here, but we could not be more excited for what the future holds.”

The mission of RNA remains the same: to equip journalists throughout the world with the tools and resources they need to cover religion with balance, accuracy and insight.
